Volkswagen Group of America (VWGoA) is a U.S. subsidiary of Volkswagen AG, Europe’s largest automaker. Headquartered in Reston, Virginia, VWGoA oversees U.S. operations for brands like Audi, Bentley, Lamborghini, and Bugatti. It employs around 10,000 people and supports about 1,000 independent dealers.​ Its Chattanooga, Tennessee plant builds the Volkswagen Atlas and the electric ID.4. The facility began Atlas production in 2017 and started assembling the ID.4 in 2022 after an $800 million investment in EV and battery production. The plant sources many components domestically and added over 1,000 new workers for the EV transition.
